What is that thing?
Fortunately the lava flow Puʻu ʻŌʻō from Kīlauea was much more interesting. Weird local weather patterns made almost all rain dodge this spot. It was less elemental than Vanuatu but still beautiful and worth the long hike/ride.
Water that’s touched the lava flow is different (flow further to the right).
First it looked like this, got more remarkable as it got darker…

Hawaiian volcano is not so thrilling, Kīlauea is no Yassur.
